Correcting a submitted record

On the Submissions page, an owner or admin can use Correct on a record that is Accepted, Rejected, Needs review or Failed retryable — never one that's still Queued or Submitting, since that record is already in flight.

What you can change

Only the fields the record actually needs corrected:

• A waste line's description, container count, weight, and whether the weight is an estimate.
• Each waste line's disposal/recovery treatment code and its weight — including adding one for the first time.

Needs review records

If the record is Needs review, tick "I have checked the Defra service and this record is not there" before Correct or Retry becomes available. This exists because Defra doesn't publish a safe way to detect whether a resend would create a duplicate — see Understanding Defra statuses.

Finishing an incomplete TIP

If a TIP was saved with Not yet known for its treatment code:

1. Open Correct and add the treatment code once the weighbridge confirms it.
2. Once every waste line on the job has a treatment code, use Mark complete.

Saving a correction sends the record to Defra again automatically — you don't need to do anything else.
