What Tipslip stores

• Your firm, site, driver, vehicle and customer records.
• Job records: waste lines, photos and signatures captured by drivers.
• A driver's PIN is stored as a one-way secure hash — nobody at Tipslip, and no one in your office, can look up what a driver's PIN actually is, only reset it.

How long records are kept

Waste transfer note records must be kept:

• 2 years for non-hazardous waste.
• 3 years for hazardous waste consignment notes.
• 6 years if you are a landfill operator (for non-hazardous waste, for landfill tax purposes).

(Waste duty of care: code of practice). Tipslip keeps your document archive for at least this long.

Asking for your data to be changed, exported or deleted

Defra's own terms require any software provider on this service to let customers change, export or delete their data (API Terms of Service). Tipslip follows the same rule for firm and driver data.

To make a request, ask your account owner to contact Tipslip. Our full privacy notice is still in draft, awaiting legal sign-off — see the Privacy page — so a dedicated data-protection contact address is not published yet. If that's blocking a request you need to make now, treat this as something to chase up with whoever set up your Tipslip account.
