If you miss a load

The law gives a receiving site until the end of the second working day after a load was received to record it and get a digital waste record number (The Digital Waste Tracking (England) Regulations 2026, SI 2026 No. 729, regulation 4). See The two-working-day deadline for how that's counted.

Tipslip does not have an answer for what happens if that deadline passes on a load — that's a question for your regulator, not for us.

What to do

1. In Tipslip, open the record on the Submissions page and check what's holding it back.
2. Correct or retry it as soon as you can — see Understanding Defra statuses.
3. If the load has already missed its deadline, contact your regulator directly.
