Recording a DROP, COLLECT or TIP
From Home, press one of the three buttons: Drop, Collect or Tip.
Drop skip
Leaving an empty skip at a customer's site. Nothing here is reported to Defra — it's just a record for your own use.
- Search for and select the customer.
- Confirm the vehicle.
- Add photo (optional).
- Tap Confirm drop.
Collect
Picking up a full skip or load from a customer. This captures everything needed for a waste transfer note.
- Search for and select the customer (the address pre-fills; edit if needed).
- Confirm the vehicle.
- Add waste line for each type of waste — code, description, weight, container, and whether it contains hazardous material or POPs (persistent organic pollutants — chemicals that must be tracked separately even in small amounts).
- If any waste line is hazardous, enter the consignment code if you have one, or choose a reason why not.
- Add at least one photo under Photos of the load.
- Tick the waste hierarchy confirmation.
- Capture the driver signature (required).
- Capture the customer signature (optional).
- Tap Save collection.
Tip
Delivering a load to one of your own receiving sites. This is the step that creates a Defra submission, so get it right.
- Choose the site.
- Optionally link the linked collection it came from — this copies the waste lines across so you don't re-enter them.
- Confirm the vehicle.
- Check or edit each waste line's weight (the weighbridge weight overrides any estimate) and its disposal/recovery treatment code — or choose Not yet known if the weighbridge hasn't confirmed it yet (see The two-working-day deadline).
- Add a photo under Photos of the load.
- Capture the driver signature.
- Tap Save tip.
Every save works the same whether or not the phone has signal — see What to do when there's no signal.
