Getting started with Tipslip

Tipslip records every skip you drop, collect and tip, and sends the ones that legally need it to Defra's digital waste tracking service automatically.

The 14-day free trial

Sign up at Start free trial. No card is required to start — you get 14 days free, then choose a plan (see Billing and plan limits).

The setup wizard

After you sign up you land in a short wizard. Every step can be skipped and finished later from its own page in the office (Sites, Drivers, Vehicles or Firm settings):

1. Add a payment method — optional now, required once your trial ends.
2. Firm details — your carrier registration number. It's needed on every waste transfer note.
3. Your first site — one of your own permitted receiving sites. See Adding your site and permit number.
4. Your first driver — a name and a PIN. See Adding drivers and PINs.
5. Your first vehicle — the registration your driver picks when they start a job.
6. Install the driver app — a firm code and a QR code for the shared phone. See Installing the driver app.

What to do next

Once a driver has the app installed, they can record a DROP, COLLECT or TIP. See Recording a DROP, COLLECT or TIP.
